Lindsey Davis got the scoring started when her RBI rocket single off the glove of the Oakland first baseman plated Kaelene Curry and Sokolik, while Davis later came around to score on a wild pitch.
The two teams would each go scoreless in their next at-bat, before Hanley's grand slam over the right-center fence scored Emily Ott, Rhiannon Mendez and Megan Vicino and gave the 'Roos the final margin of victory at 7-2.

The 'Roos would put the game away with a four-run fourth to take the final 9-0 lead. In the inning, Emily Ott would knock in Kaelene Curry and Sokolik to give her 33rd and 34th RBIs of the year, setting the school record for the most RBIs in a season.
