Kangaroos Fall 1-0 At Western Illinois

Macomb, Ill. -- The UMKC women's soccer team dropped its first Summit League match 1-0 at Western Illinois on Friday afternoon. The `Roos fall to 1-9 overall and 0-1 in league play, while the Leathernecks improve to 5-3-3 overall and 1-0 in The Summit League. Jami Finnell recorded eight saves in the match in the defeat.
UMKC got down early in the game and could never find the equalizer. Western Illinois scored its lone goal in the 14th minute after Jenny Green received a pass and then went one-one-one with Finnell.
The Kangaroos had several chances to score, posting eight shots-on-frame. Taylor Bare led UMKC with three shots, while Meagan Malloy, Randi Simmons and Alyssa D'Egidio each recorded two.
UMKC continues with Summit League play at IUPUI for a Sunday afternoon match-up.
