The Germany native ousted Suslov by the score of 6-4, 6-3 to pick up his 14th singles win of the season. The figure is tied for the second most wins in a single season in school history behind Divan Coetzee's 15 victories in 2000.
The Golden Eagles quickly tallied their first point at the top singles position courtesy of a win by Kotsuik, The Summit League Player of the Year. UMKC's 14 wins are tied for the most in a single season in school history with the 1998 and 1999 squads. The victory is also the team's first win over Oral Roberts since the 2001-02 season.
The Kangaroos will now await word from the NCAA to determine who and where they will play in the 2009 NCAA Tournament on May 8-9. The NCAA selection announcement will air on ESPNews on Tuesday, April 28 at 4:20 p.m. (CDT).
