No. 41 Nebraska Ends UMKC's Five-Match Winning Streak

Lincoln, Neb. -- The UMKC men's tennis team had its five match winning streak snapped at No. 41 Nebraska on Saturday night at the Nebraska Tennis Center. The Kangaroos dropped a hard fought doubles points before the Huskers claimed all six singles match in straight sets to finish off the 7-0 victory.
UMKC's Patrick Smith and Bret Berryman gave the Husker duo of David Bendheim and Calin Paar all they could handle at the No. 1 doubles line. The Kangaroo pair, however, ultimately dropped their first match of the spring by the score of 9-8 (5).
In singles, freshman Gustavo Guerin played the most competitive match of the night for UMKC at the three line before falling to NU's Hendrik Stahmer by the score of 6-4, 7-6 (1). Juniors Dennis Schwarz and Berryman also played close matches at the five and one positions, respectively. Schwarz fell to Francois Van Impe, 7-5, 6-2, while Berryman fell short to Bendheim at No. 1, 6-3, 6-2.
UMKC (5-2) will return to action on Sunday morning when they face Bradley at the Nebraska Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m.
