Fort Wayne, Ind. -- The UMKC women's soccer team wrapped up the weekend on the road with IPFW today. The Kangaroos dropped a 2-0 decision to the Mastodons and fall to 0-11-1 on the season and 0-2 in The Summit League. The `Roos welcomed back Randi Simmons this weekend who led the offense with five shots.
The game was evenly matched during the first half with both teams having opportunities at the goal. IPFW capitalized on one such chance in the 37th minute when Arianne Mason found the back of the net to give her team a 1-0 boost.
UMKC almost tied things up in the second half but a Simmons goal was called back due to offsides. Tara O'Toole sealed the win for the Mastodons in the 85th minute and scored off of a Brittany Climmons assist.
The `Roos also had some good looks thanks to Ariel Rank and Meagan Shipley, with both recording two shots on frame.
Jami Finnell logged in her 12th start on the season and recorded five saves against the Mastodons.
The Kangaroos are back at Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field on Thur., Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., playing host to IUPUI.
