Roo Item -- Joins a program with several ties to Seward County. Coach White-Whitaker was an all-American for the Lady Saints in 2000, while senior guard Sierra Radke played at SCCC from 2004-06.
2007-08 -- Appeared in 14 games for UMKC with 11 starts before missing the second semester due to academics... finished with an average of 3.21 steals per game, averaging 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest as well... scored 11 points against Air Force (11/11) on 5-of-8 shooting, adding two rebounds, two assists and two steals... picked up four steals against Colorado State (11/17) while adding 10 points and seven rebounds on the night... nabbed five steals and handed out three assists against Texas State(12/3), scoring six points and pulling three rebounds... handed out four assists and picked up six steals against Newman (1/2)... named to The Summit League Winter/Spring Academic all-League team.
At Seward County CC -- Played two seasons at Seward County Community College... finished her career with 305 steals, which are the second most in school history... had 215 steals as a sophomore to lead the nation and break the NJCAA Division I Region XI record for steals in a season... set a NJCAA record for steals in a single game when she had 13 swipes vs. Pratt Community College on Feb. 28, 2007... averaged 12.7 points, 5.8 steals, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists as a sophomore... First Team NJCAA all-Region VI selection and a Region VI all-Tournament team honoree... also a first team all-conference selection... averaged 8.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and among the tournament leaders with 13 steals in four games at the NJCAA National Tournament... started all 30 games as a freshman, averaging 8.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.3 assists... led the team with 90 steals and had a team-best .601 field goal percentage, which ranked first in the Jayhawk West Conference... tallied 17 games where she had at least three steals... also named to the Fall 2005 Athletic Director's Honor Roll... coached by Toby Wynn.
High School -- All-Region, Oklahoma Girl's Basketball Coaches Association all-State and McDonald's all-State selection as a senior... three-time all-conference selection... Wynnewood all-Tournament team and Southern all-Tournament team selection... also excelled in track and field, as she won 11 state championships, including state titles in the 200 and 400-meters and as a part of the 400, 600 and 800-meter relays... coached by Stephen Castlebury.
Personal -- Born on June 30, 1987... daughter of Michelle Rushing and Chris Smith... majoring in psychology.
