Graduate assistant Ashley Weber is in her second season with the Kangaroos, and will help on the development and equipment staffs in 2013-14. She served as a graduate assistant for the softball team at UMKC her first year as well.
Before coming to Kansas City, Weber played four seasons of softball at Long State Beach as an outfielder.
Throughout her time in a 49er uniform, the Yorba Linda, Calif. native played in over 130 games, including starting in all 55 during her senior season in 2009.
In her final year, she finished second on the squad with a .317 batting average and 53 hits. In addition, she led the conference and set a 49er single-season record with 26 sacrifice hits. Also, Weber finished tied for 34th in the nation on the toughest to strike out list with nine strikeouts in 167 at-bats to go along with 13 multiple-hit games. At season's end, she came away with All-Big West First-Team honors.
