
Roos Finish Ninth at Island Resort Intercollegiate

BARK RIVER, Mich. - The Kansas City Men's Golf team wrapped up the Island Resort Intercollegiate today, finishing ninth.
Kansas City finished ninth to open the season in Michigan while facing Power 4 opponents, including champions Michigan, UCF, and West Virginia.
The Roos were led by Chance Rinkol, who shot 2-under par(75-68-71) for the tournament while having nine birdies during the week. Rinkol finished in a tie for 20th.
Leon Heeder, a German international, shot 2-over par(72-73-73) over the 54-hole tournament. He opened his college career with a tie for 34th.
Filiph Dock kicked off his college career with a tie for 38th after shooting 3-over(71-76-72) after 54 holes; he had 13 birdies during the two days in Michigan.
Harry Bent & Jack Spencer round out the Kansas City lineup, finishing tied for 59th & 61st, respectively. Both players are looking to add to their previous season, where Bent was named Summit League Honorable Mention, while Spencer was named to the Summit League All-Freshman Team.
Kansas City is back in action next week as they will take part in the Wildcat Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., September 14-15, at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
