OMAHA, Neb. - The Kansas City Roos Women's Soccer team lost 1-0 in a tightly fought match on the road on Thursday evening.

"Really proud of how we executed our game plan tonight after making some changes due to available personnel," said Head Coach Jess Smith. "We gave up a tough goal, but we will learn from that mistake. We were disciplined when defending and looked dangerous in many moments. It's a good step forward in our preparation for the rest of our schedule."

Kansas City drops to 0-3-1 on the season; in the opening 45 minutes, the Roos had three shots, one of which was on goal by Abigail Chaddock. Creighton(1-2-1) would score the game's only goal in the 18th minute of the match. KC would take two corners in the first half of play.

The Roos would start the second 45 minutes of play on the front foot with Kaitlyn Edwards putting a free kick from outside the box just wide. Edwards would play all 90 minutes today along with four other Roos. KC took two more shots for the rest of the match. Kansas City had a chance in the final minute of the match from a corner kick that didn't fall in the Roos' favor.

Hayes Fitzgerald made five saves on the night, a season-high for the team.
Five outfield players played all 90 minutes: K. Edwards, Olivia Platt, Kinsley Smith, Ella Reyling, and Abigail Chaddock.

Kansas City is back in action next Thursday when they head on the road to take on nationally ranked No. 17 Kansas at Rock Chalk Park at 7 PM.
