Patton Records 13 Saves as Roos Fall at Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Kansas City Women's Soccer team fell 3-0 to Kansas at Rock Chalk Park Thursday evening.
Kansas City (0-4-1) faced early pressure from Kansas (5-2-0), with the Jayhawks finding the back of the net twice in the opening 14 minutes. Norah Jacomen opened the scoring in the 14th minute off an assist from London De Fini before Caroline Castans doubled the Kansas advantage less than a minute later. The Roos entered halftime trailing 2-0, with goalkeeper Anika Patton making seven saves to keep Kansas City within striking distance.
Kansas continued to apply pressure in the second half, recording 19 shots and 14 corner kicks after the break. Patton added six more saves in the second half, finishing the night with 13 saves. Kansas City was unable to generate a shot in the match, while Kansas recorded 32 shots, including 16 on target. The Jayhawks added an insurance goal in the 85th minute when Jocelyn Herrema found the back of the net to make it 3-0.
