Jerome Palm went for a double-double in the loss
TULSA, Okla. - Kansas City Men's Basketball (4-21, 1-10 Summit) fell on the road to Oral Roberts (6-20, 1-10 Summit) this evening, 69-60. Karmello Branch led the Roos with 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting while Jerome Palm posted an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double.Â
The Roos were able to jump out to a one-point lead going into the half, holding ORU to just 30% field goal shooting in the first frame. Branch came out hot, scoring 13 points to lead KC going into the break.
The Golden Eagles began firing in the second half, shooting 50% from the field and holding Kansas City to just 14 points in the first 12 minutes of play. After building the lead to 16 points, ORU was able to hold on for victory late.
Jayson Petty and Chris Dockery joined Branch and Palm in double-digits with 11 points each. Palm's double-double was his fourth of the year and the first by a Roo since Dockery went for 13 points and 11 boards at Omaha on Jan. 3.
The Roos host St. Thomas for a Valentine's Day game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
