Kansas City Notes

Kansas City aims to even the season series with South Dakota at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday evening. Last time out, the Roos suffered a 58-68 loss to North Dakota in the Swinney Center. Elauni Bennett posted her seventh double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against the Fighting Hawks.
Last time Kansas City was on the road in the Summit League, the Roos held on to win a 60-59 contest over Omaha, completing a season sweep of the Mavericks in the process. Emani Bennett finished with 17 points and scored the go-ahead basket with four seconds left that became the KC's game-winner.
Kelby Bannerman holds three career double-digit scoring performances against the Coyotes, including a 17-point, nine-rebound outing in Kansas City's last win, 77-54, over South Dakota. Bannermann averages 11 PPG and 4.8 RPG in five career matchups with South Dakota.
Kansas City leads the Summit League in offensive rebounding, hauling in 13.0 ORPG as a unit this year. Leading the charge on the offensive glass is Elauni Bennett, who averages a Summit-leading 4.1 ORPG and ranks 11th in the country in that statistical marker.
In the Roos six matchups against top 100 NET teams (USD: 102), KC forces an average of over 15 turnovers a game. Kansas City forces 18.5 turnovers a contest overall which ranks second in the Summit League and top 100 on the national scene.

South Dakota Notes

South Dakota heads into Thursday night's contest sitting at 19-6 overall while holding a 9-2 record in Summit action. The Coyotes have won the last four conference game and eight of their last nine.
South Dakota is 10-2 at home this season and 4-0 against the Roos at home in the all-time series. USD holds a 13-4 record against KC dating back to 1991.
Last time the Coyotes and Roos played, USD defeated KC 67-47 to get their first win at the Swinney Center since 2024. Molly Joyce led South Dakota in scoring with 21 points on 50% (7-14) shooting from the floor.
The Coyotes lead the Summit in scoring defense, giving up just 55.6 PPG and opponent field goal percentage at 33.4% for the season. USD also holds the Summit's best marks in rebounding, grabbing 42.1 RPG and 3P% defense at 26.5% in 2025-26.
