Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Basketball remains at home for the second-straight game on Wednesday evening, playing host to Denver for the second game of their regular season series. So far this season, the Roos are 1-1 when playing the second of back-to-back home games.
- The Roos are coming off a loss at the hands of Omaha which saw Kasheem Grady II lead Kansas City's scoring efforts for the third-straight game. Before the last three games, Grady had been the Roos' scoring leader just twice - once in a win over Spurgeon earlier this season and once against American last season.
- Chris Dockery went down as the Roos' leader in the rebounding and assists columns against the Mavericks, leading KC on the boards for the eighth time this season and tallying a career-high three assists. Dockery has also reached double-digit scoring in four of the last seven games after reaching that mark just twice in the team's first 13 contests.
- Making his first start since Nov. 29, Addarin Scott played a season-high 20 minutes against Omaha. He scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting, also tallying a block and pulling down a career-high six rebounds.
- Kansas City was limited to just 15 free throw attempts against the Mavericks, the third time in the past four games that the Roos have shot fewer than 16 times from the charity stripe. This comes after eclipsing that mark in 10-straight games from Dec. 3 through Jan. 8.
Denver Notes
- Denver enters Wednesday's game with a 9-13 overall record and a 2-5 record in Summit League play. The Pioneers lost a pair of games last week after a win over Oral Roberts on Jan. 14.
- Carson Johnson ranks third in the Summit League and 55th nationally with an average of 19.2 points per game. He has scored 20-plus in three-straight games.
- As a team, the Pioneers lead the Summit League and rank 49th in the NCAA in scoring offense at 84.0 points per game.
- Kansas City leads the all-time series against Denver, 11-7. The Roos are 9-1 against the Pios in games played in Kansas City.
- The first meeting between these two teams was an 87-74 Denver win. Karmello Branch led the Roos with 18 points.
