Roos seek redemption after going winless against the Tommies for first time ever in 2024
Kansas City Notes
- Last time out, Kansas City ventured out to the Missouri Challenge where the Roos lost to SEMO and Missouri State in straight sets while pushing Saint Louis to the brink in a five set defeat.Â
- Kansas City comes off their most productive outing, setting several match highs against Saint Louis including 57 kills, 174 total attempts, 50 assists, 81 digs and 10 blocks as a team against the Billikens.Â
- Ledisi Kpea has showed out on both ends, earning a spot on the Missouri Challenge All-Tournament Team behind a 17.5 point, 15 kill, .652 hitting percentage performance, all career-best marks and individual match-highs by a Roo this season.Â
- Alaina Larson racked up 25 digs against Saint Louis, a career-high mark and the most digs in a contest by a Roo this season. The junior Oral Roberts transfer has notched 133 digs this season, the seventh best mark in the conference.Â
- Ryanne Wattree has been an offensive standout this season, making the Radford Invitational and Bradley Invite All-Tournament Teams. Wattree leads the squad in kills with 106 this season and has four matches of double figure kills.Â
- The Roos rank second in the Summit League in digs as a team with 690 in 13 matches, only trailing South Dakota. The Roos are also third in digs per set in the conference at 15.68 in 2025.
- Kansas City comes in fourth in the conference in both points and kills at 605 points and 483 kills as a team in 44 sets played this season.Â
- Chloe Kaminski Kaminski's has registered 142 digs this season, the fifth best mark in the Summit League while boasting a 3.23 digs per set rate, also a top 10 mark.Â
- Lyla Jones is fifth in the Summit League in assists with 257 and assists per set at 5.84 in 2025. The seniors best mark this year was 37 assists against Eastern Michigan.Â
- St. Thomas 7-4 this season as the Tommies just had a seven match win streak snapped in a 3-0 loss to Campbell. After starting 0-3 on the year, the Thommies rattled off seven straight at the Molly Howard-Gerwig Memorial Tournament, Bryant Invitational and Northwestern Tournament.
- The Tommies boast one of the more efficient offenses in the conference, lead the Summit League in points per set at 17.79, kills per set at 14.38 and hitting percentage at .260 this season as a team.Â
- Megan Wetter leads the Summit League in hitting percentage, attacking at a .416 rate with 114 kills to her name in 2025. The Tommies leader in digs Ella Voegele is third in the conference in digs at 143 and 3.67 per set this season.Â
- Head Coach Thanh Pham enters his 23rd season leading St. Thomas, the longest-tenured head coach in the Summit League. He is set to coach in his 700th career match this season.Â
- What St. Thomas lacked to start the Division I era has now become a strength of the team: 14 of the team's 21 athletes are upperclassmen. Among the upperclassmen, nine are seniors with seven being a part of the program over each of the past four seasons.Â
- After finishing third in the Summit League standings a season ago, the Tommies were picked to finish third in the 2025 Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll. It's the highest preseason selection since joining the league in 2021.Â
