Notes: Roos Close Non-Conference Play at Northern Colorado

Kansas City Notes

Kansas City Women's Soccer closes out the non-conference slate with a game at Northern Colorado on Sunday. Kansas City is looking to finish non-con play with six wins for the second-straight year, a feat that has not been accomplished since the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
The Roos pulled out a win in a high-scoring affair at SEMO last Sunday, scoring four goals. KC has scored four-plus goals twice this season, a first since 2019.
Ashley Koch scored the opening goal in the Roos' win over SEMO, a 31st minute tally that evened the score at 1-1. Koch now has five goals on the year, bringing her within one of the team-lead. She has 12 total points on the year and her average of 1.33 points per game ranks second in the Summit.
Olivia Platt slotted home a penalty kick in the 81st minute to break the 3-3 tie, her second PK goal of the year. The redshirt-junior nabbed her first game-winning goal and has already tied her career-high with five shots on the season.
As a team, the Roos are among the top in scoring offense. KC's 2.11 goals per game average ranks fourth in the Summit League and 60th in the NCAA.

Northern Colorado Notes

The Bears have begun the season with a 1-5-3 record and will take on Air Force on Friday evening before taking on KC.
UNC has already played four Summit League opponents with a 1-1-2 record. The lone win came over Oral Roberts on Aug. 16.
Lexi Tuite leads the Northern Colorado offense with four goals on the year and scored the game winner over the Golden Eagles.
Kaya Lindberg and Maddie Smith have split time in goal with Lindberg boasting a 1.00 goals against average.
This is the second meeting in program history. Kansas City won the first on Sep. 22 of last year in a 4-1 affair.
