Briona Woods drove in KC's lone run of the day

AMES, Iowa - Kansas City Softball (4-29, 1-8 Summit) dropped a run-rule shortened decision to Iowa State this evening, 9-1. The Roos picked up six hits on the day but could only bring one runner in to score, driven in by Briona Woods in the third inning.

KEY MOMENTS

Bottom 1 / 0-2 | Riley Bebb fought through a seven pitch at bat to get a strikeout looking and end the first inning.
Bottom 2 / 0-2 | After a leadoff single, the Roos got a 5-4-3 double play and a fly out to right field for the only scoreless inning of the game.
Top 3 / 1-2 | Leilani Bustamante led the inning off with a walk and Chloe Kohnhorst put runners on first and third with a single. Facing two outs, Woods stepped up to the plate and knocked a base hit to left field for the Roos' lone run of the game.
