
White, Shaw Receive Academic All-League Team Recognition

Kai White & Shavelle Shaw took home their first Summit League Academic All-League for the 20025 indoor track and field season
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League released the 2025 Summit League Men's & Women's Academic All-League teams Wednesday afternoon. Kansas City Track and Field saw both Kai White earn a spot on the esteemed list for the men's team and Shavelle Shaw take a bid on the women's side. This is the first successful Academic All-League bid for both White and Shaw of their collegiate T&F careers.Â
White holds a 3.87 GPA while pursuing a Mathematics & Statistics BS to go along with minors in Actuarial Science and Data Analytics. A Kansas City, Mo. native, White ran well for the Roos throughout the 2025 indoor season, setting career-best times in the 600, 800 and 1000-meter dashes. The junior ran the second best 1000m time in program history with a time of 2:28.67 at the Iowa State Holiday Invitational this past December. White also ran a 1:52.98 time at the Show-Me-Showdown, the fifth best 800m time for any men's indoor performer in school history.Â
Shaw holds a 3.77 GPA while pursuing a Business Administration BBA and a Computer Science BA. The Kingston, Jamaica brought her all to the track throughout the 2025 indoor campaign as she set a new personal record in the 200-meter dash. The senior sprinter darted a 25:47 second time in the Iowa State Holiday Invitational 200m race. Furthermore, Shaw notched a season-best time of 8.07 seconds in the 60-meter dash at the Show-Me-Showdown. Shaw also ran in the 4x400-meter relays twice at the Missouri Invitational and Washburn Open.Â
