Woods, Duvall Named Summit Players to Watch

Kansas City kicks off the season this weekend in Texas, New Mexico
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League officially announced its preseason softball polls this morning, with Kansas City selected to finish fifth by the league's coaches. Additionally, Briona Woods and Maddy Duvall were both selected as 'Players to Watch' heading into the 2025 campaign.
Woods enters her senior season fresh off a 2024 Honorable Mention All-Summit League selection. She hit .288 on the season last year, going for ten multi-hit games and leading the team with 12 doubles.
Duvall is a freshman from Blue Springs, Mo. and is expected to contribute to the Roos' pitching staff immediately this season. She was a multiple-time All-State honoree while playing for Blue Springs South during her high school years.
The Roos open the season with a double-header at UTEP on Friday before participating in the New Mexico State Invitational this weekend.
