Jamar Brown's near double-double led Kansas City in the road loss
TULSA, Okla. - A frantic comeback fell just short for Kansas City Men's Basketball (10-14, 2-7 Summit) against Oral Roberts (6-16, 2-7 Summit) this evening, falling in a 67-73 decision. The Roos stormed back from a 20-point deficit and cut the lead to one with just over a minute remaining, but could not get over the hump in the game's closing moments.
The Golden Eagles were on fire from the field in the first half, shooting 59.3% from the field and 61.5% from three. Kansas City settled in defensively in the second half, holding ORU to 5-of-23 shooting and staging the comeback attempt. However, Oral Roberts knocked down 15 free throws in the second half, enough to escape with their second win of league play.
Jamar Brown was a catalyst for KC, scoring 17 points and pulling down nine rebounds to go along with four steals. Gob Gob entered the starting lineup for the second time all year, shooting 8-of-8 from the free throw line and finishing with a career-high 16 points.
