Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer is into the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight year, the first time in program history that the Roos have qualified to the national tournament in consecutive seasons. This also marks the first time in school history that the Roos have earned an at-large bid to the NCAAs.
- The Roos' resume includes the 20th-best RPI in the nation and a regular season title in the Summit League, the nation's 7th RPI rated conference. Kansas City faced the 23rd toughest schedule in the nation, piecing together an 11-3-5 overall record with a 10-0-1 record against teams outside of the RPI top-75.
- Jeremy Francou logged his second-career brace in the Summit League title match, accounting for both of the Roos' goals. He has tallied 11 total goals this year, tied for the fourth-most in a single season in program history and 15th-most in the nation this year.
- This is the fifth NCAA tournament appearance in Kansas City's history, adding to the legacy of the 2001, 2003, 2008 and 2024 squads. KC has a 3-4 all-time record in NCAA tournament games, including a program-best Round of 16 appearance last season.
- The Roos are 2-2 all-time in NCAA First Round match ups. Kansas City won its first-ever NCAA game in 2001, defeating Milwaukee, 2-1. KC dropped first round contests to Creighton in 2003 and Tulsa in 2008 before defeating Saint Louis, 2-0, in last year's first round.
- Head Coach Ryan Pore is no stranger to the national tournament, qualifying two times as a player at Tulsa, two times as an assistant coach at Tulsa and twice now as a head coach in KC. He tallied a 3-2-1 tournament record as an athlete and currently has a 3-3-1 record as a coach.
Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood enters the NCAA Championship with a 14-2-4 overall record after claiming the regular season and tournament OVC titles. The Lions come into the tournament ranked 90th in the national RPI.
- The Lions have qualified for the NCAA Tournament in the school's first year of Division One postseason eligibility after elevating from DII in 2022.
- Matteo Landais ranks 10th in the NCAA with nine total assists on the season.
- Keeper Gavin Roberts allows just 0.68 goals per game, leading the OVC and ranking 14th in the nation.
- The Roos and Lions have met once before during Lindenwood's single season as an affiliate member of the Summit League. Kansas City won that meeting on Sep. 24, 2022, 2-1. KC captain Bryson Gosch is the only player remaining on either roster that logged playing time in the contest.
