Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Women's Soccer returns to Durwood Soccer Stadium for its final regular season home game of the 2025 season, welcoming South Dakota State for a battle between the current third and fourth ranked teams in the Summit League standings.
- The Roos are currently on a three-game winning streak, the longest active winning streak in the Summit League. It has helped KC clinch a postseason appearance, the Roos' first since 2023 and the second of Head Coach Jess Smith's tenure.
- Riley Porter scored in both of the Roos' wins last week, including a game-winner against the Fighting Hawks. She brought home the Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week honor and moved to three goals and eight total points on the season.
- Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco notched her Summit League-leading 11th goal of the season in the win over North Dakota, opening the scoring in the 24th minute. She currently ranks 23rd in the nation in goals per game and is tied for fourth in program history in single season goals.
- The Roos have five players with three-plus goals on the year, contributing to the third-best scoring offense in the Summit League this season and the fourth-best goals per game average in program history. It is the first time that Kansas City has had five players reach the three-goal mark since 2019 and the fifth time overall in the program's 17-year history.
South Dakota State Notes
- South Dakota State enters Thursday's contest with a 9-2-5 overall record and sits at third in the Summit League standings with 11 points.
- The Jackrabbits are led offensively by Emma Brezenski with 14 points. The freshman has scored three goals in Summit League play.
- SDSU holds the league-leading scoring offense, averaging 2.19 goals per game and ranking 30th in the NCAA.
- Kansas City trails in the all-time series, 2-10-1, but all three of the Roos' results against SDSU have come at Durwood Soccer Stadium.
- The Jackrabbits defeated the Roos' in last season's match up, a 1-0 decision that saw SDSU score the game's lone goal in the first minute.
