Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City Men's Soccer returns to the confines of Durwood Soccer Stadium for a league home opener against Omaha on Saturday. The Roos are 4-0-1 in their first home game of Summit League play during the tenure of Head Coach Ryan Pore.
- The Roos are coming off a 2-1 loss at the hands of Denver last Saturday, snapping a four-game unbeaten streak and allowing multiple goals for just the second time all season.
- Elie Kisoka made his return to the starting lineup against the Pioneers, playing 66 minutes and attempting three shots. The 2024 Summit League Offensive Player of the Year had been limited in his playing time early in the season while recovering from an offseason knee procedure.
- Joackim Betina scored the Roos' lone goal of the game in Denver, the first of his collegiate career. In two years with Florida International, he had not attempted more than six shots in a season. Just 10 games into this year, he has gone for eight shot attempts.
- Bryce Outman played all 90 minutes of the Roos' Summit League opener, a first in his collegiate career. He has started each of the past five games after starting the season in a reserve role.
Omaha Notes
- Omaha enters Saturday's match with a 2-5-2 record, but won their Summit League opener against St. Thomas last weekend.
- Theo Klein is the Mavs' all-time leading scorer and is tied for the team lead with three goals already this season.
- As a team, Omaha leads the Summit in saves per game, averaging 3.44.
- The all-time series is nearly even with a slight advantage towards Omaha, 5-4-5. The Roos have dominated games played in Kansas City with a 4-2-2 record.
- The last meeting came on Oct. 26, 2024 and resulted in a 3-2 win for Kansas City with goals scored by Kisoka, Gabrielle Galluccio and Julien Le Bourdoulous.
