- Kansas City Men's Basketball continues its North Dakota road trip on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Fighting Hawks in KC's 20th contest of the year. The Roos will look to reverse their fortunes on the road this season, posting a 3-8 record in games outside of Kansas City and a 7-1 record in games played at home.
- Jayson Petty knocked down a career-high tying five three-pointers in the Roos' Thursday loss at North Dakota State, finishing the game with a season-high 19 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds, leading Kansas City in that category. Additionally, he drew an offensive foul, his team-leading eighth of the season.
- Ring Nyeri gave the Roos a career-high 25 minutes off of the bench on Thursday, surpassing the 20-minute mark for the first time since Nov. 18. Nyeri finished with two points, four rebounds, a block and two steals.
- The Roos have established themselves as a three-point shooting team on the offensive end of the court, averaging 27.1 attempts per game to rank second in the Summit. This is par for the course under Head Coach Marvin Menzies, as Kansas City has attempted at least 10 threes in all 83 games that he has coached.
- Kansas City's bench averages 22.68 points per game on the season, ranking fourth in the Summit League. This number has taken a hit since the start of league play as the Roos are averaging just 12.75 bench points across four games.
Scouting North Dakota
- North Dakota enters Saturday's contest with a 7-13 record, including a 1-4 mark in league play. The Fighting Hawks have dropped their last two contests against Oral Roberts and South Dakota State.
- UND is led offensively by Treysen Eaglestaff, who ranks third in the Summit League with an 18.3 points per game average.
- The Fighting Hawks lead the Summit in offensive rebounding, averaging 14.8 per game.Â
- Kansas City leads the all-time series between these two teams, 8-5. The Roos have particularly had success in Grand Forks, owning a 5-2 advantage.
