Madison Page scores both goals in Roos' fourth win of the season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Roos advanced to 4-0-3 Sunday afternoon thanks to a well earned 2-1 win over Tulsa (4-2-2). Junior forward Madison Page poured in a multi-goal outing for KC that propelled the Roos to victory.
KEY MOMENTS
- 42' / 0-0 | Late in the first half, Tulsa threatened to score when Leah Diaz put a shot on goal. Redshirt-Freshman goaltender Maddie Sibbing made the fingertip save to bat the ball just over the net and prevent a Golden Hurricane goal.
- 51' / 1-0 | Kansas City wasted no time breaking the score early in the second half, as Page scored her first goal from a header on a ball that was well placed by Kayda Kamolz.
- 66' / 1-0 | Page aimed for another score off a breakaway opportunity, firing a ball at the net that was thwarted by Tulsa goalkeeper Kylie Koejimans.
- 72' / 2-0 | After more competitive action, the Roos found a second goal the same way they found their first. Kamolz fed Page on the left side of the box and the junior forward punched the ball through for her second score of the afternoon.
- 89' / 2-1 | The Golden Hurricanes scored their only goal off a late shot from Aniya Facen to pull within a goal in the final five seconds of play.
