Roos Hit the Road Traveling to UIC, Creighton

Kansas City will look to extend its unbeaten streak in Chicago
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos enter the game against UIC in one of their best starts in program history. The Blue and Gold jumped out to a 4-0-3 record, already a one-win improvement from last season. Another result would allow the Roos to tie their longest unbeaten streak in program history. KC has notched an eight-game unbeaten streak twice, once in 2014 and again in 2017.
- Kansas City landed a season-high ten shots on goal in their win against Tulsa. The Blue and Gold fired 20 shots and improved their record to 4-0 when they land five or more shots on frame this season.Â
- Riley Moore and Maddie Sibbing have both played critical roles for Kansas City in goal. The two have split time with Moore making four starts and Sibbing making three. Audrey Brown has also made an appearance for Kansas City making this the first season since 2021 where Kansas City has had three keepers play in one season. As a team, the Roos have allowed just two goals across the first eight games of the season which is a program low.
- Madison Page brought home her first-career Summit League Peak Performer honors for her outstanding performance on offense against Missouri State and Tulsa last week. Page scored two goals against Tulsa, including her second game-winning goal of the season.Â
- True Freshman, Kinsely Smith held down the back line last week playing a full 90 minutes against Missouri State and Tulsa. She was the only back line player to play a full game in both matches last week and has assisted the Roos in allowing just two goals this season, both of which came in the final minute of play.Â
UIC NotesÂ
- UIC enters the match on a six-game losing skid. The Flames opened their season with a win at home over Chicago State, 2-0, but have struggled to find their footing since. UIC and Kansas City faced Marquette earlier this season; the Flames lost to Marquette, 1-0, while the Roos drew, 1-1, thanks to a 90th minute goal from the Golden Eagles.Â
- Conference play begins next week for UIC as they host Northern Iowa on Thursday. Last season, the Flames finished 5-3-2Â and fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference.Â
- Four Flames have found the back of the net this season. Chopper Carriere, Emmy Higgins, Sophia Jaime and Shelsea Rigby have one goal each. Jaime leads the team in shots on goal with seven this season.Â
Creighton NotesÂ
- The Bluejays enter the matchup well rested coming off an eight-day break between games. In their most recent game, Creighton drew, 0-0, with No. 19 Saint Louis. The Roos and the Billikens also drew in a scoreless match to open their seasons.Â
- Senior midfielder Azumi Manriki has been an offensive force for the Bluejays leading the team in points and shots on goal. Manriki has scored a team-high three goals including the game-winner against Iowa State.Â
- In their next game, Creighton begins conference play, facing Georgetown on Sunday, Sep. 22. In the Big East Preseason Poll Creighton was expected to finish seventh out of the eleven teams. Â
