Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City is back in action on Monday evening following back-to-back wins over Missouri Valley opponents. The Roos will conclude their tour of the MVC with a game against Drake in Des Moines.
- KC's 3-1-1 start is the best through five games since the 2017 season, when the Roos began the year 2-0-3. It is the most wins through five games since the 2007 team began the year with three-straight wins.
- The Roos exploded for six goals in Friday's win over Northern Illinois, the program's most goals since October of 2002. The Roos' program record is seven goals, and KC has reached the six-goal mark just five other times in program history.
- With a pair of braces in the win over the Huskies, Raphael Kistmann and Elie Kisoka now each have four goals on the young season. In comparison, the Roos' goal-scoring leaders last season, Julien Le Bourdoulous, Brice Middleton, Hector Taboada and Edson Murguia, had just three goals each.Â
- In addition to his four goals, Kistmann also has a pair of assists, giving him 10 total points on the year. That mark is tied with Oral Roberts' Omar Mora for the highest in the Summit League.
- A win on Monday would mark the longest winning streak since Ryan Pore took over as head coach in 2020. KC's last three-match winning streak came in the midst of the 2019 season.
Drake NotesÂ
- Drake enters Monday's meeting with a 3-2-0 record and have won their last two games against DePaul and Houston Christian.
- Damian Segura is the Bulldogs' leading scorer through five games, having scored four goals on 11 shot attempts. The 2022 MVC All-Freshman Team honoree scored in four-straight games to begin the year.Â
- These two programs are very familiar with each other, having gone head-to-head 34 times in the past. Drake has a 25-7-2 advantage all-time, including a 15-1-1 record in games played in Des Moines. The Roos' lone road win in the series came on Sep. 19, 2001.
- The Roos and Bulldogs met up last season with Kansas City clinching a 4-3 victory on Sep. 4 in KC. Hector Taboada led the Roos, scoring a pair of goals including the game-winner.
