Kansas City Men's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule

The Roos will play 14 home games, beginning the season on Nov. 4
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Men's Basketball is excited to announce its complete 2024-25 schedule, ushering in the third chapter of Roos hoops under Head Coach Marvin Menzies. With the Roos' entire starting five back and an assembly of fresh faces to join them, Kansas City is poised to build on last season's success in 2024-25.
The Roos begin their season in the familiar confines of the Swinney Center as they host Hannibal Lagrange on Nov. 4 and Kansas Christian on Nov. 8 to get the year going. After two home match ups, the Roos hit the road for two early tests against Iowa State on Nov. 11 and Creighton on Nov. 16.
Following two big out of conference challenges against Power 6 programs and a home match up against Calvary on Nov. 18, the Roos are set to travel to the Caribbean for the November Clasico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Kansas City is one of three teams set to compete in a tournament with American and Albany accompanying them into foreign territory on Nov. 22-24.
The Roos round out their non-conference slate by alternating home and away contests against various non-Summit league foes from around the mid-west and west coast. Notably, the Roos will take part in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge as Kansas City is set to host Idaho on Dec. 4 and visit Montana State on Dec. 7 toward the tail end of their non-conference schedule.
Kansas City will play a 16 game schedule in the Summit League this season as they did last year when the Roos finished second in the conference with a 10-6 conference record. Of the 16 conference games, eight will be played in Swinney while the rest will be held on the road. The Roos will play each Summit League foe twice, once at home and once on the road.
A few highlights include Kansas City hosting last year's Summit League champions, South Dakota State on Jan. 23, six games into conference play. A week later, the Roos will play Denver on the road and look for revenge for the Pioneers' Summit League Tournament win over Kansas City last season.
The 2024-25 season looks to be an exciting one as the Roos will aim for back to back 10-plus wins in conference play for the first time since 2006.
