Riley Moore delivered several clutch second half saves to keep the Roos undefeated
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Heading into the Thursday evening showdown against Missouri State, Kansas City was looking to stay undefeated on the season. With a 0-0 result, the Roos did just that to advance to 3-0-3 on the year.
KEY MOMENTS
- 16' / 0-0 | Kayda Kamolz dribbled through a ticket of Bears defenders before attempting the Roos first shot attempt of the game. The shot was sent to the upper shelf and on target but not before it was saved by Missouri State goalkeeper Camielle Day.
- 40' / 0-0 | Adriana Benassi fired KC's second shot of the first half, a stinger off the right foot that went high left and was saved by Day.
- 61' / 0-0 | In the second half, the Bears turned up the heat on offense with a scoring chance from Reilly Heman that was turned away by a brillant save from Riley Moore, the second of three crucial saves to keep the tie.
- 83' / 0-0 | Moore made another brilliant save in traffic as she emerged with the ball in hand after a collision between multiple players took place right in front of the net.
STATS TO NOTE
- Kansas City remains undefeated six games into the season, marking the best start in the Jess Smith era, and the Roos best start to a season since 2019 when KC went 5-0-2.
- The Roos have recorded four straight shutouts and notched five clean sheets in their first six games of the season. Kansas City is one clean sheet away from tying their 2017 mark of five shutouts in a row.
