- Kansas City is back on the road after its home opener, a 3-0 loss at the hands of nationally-ranked UC Santa Barbara. The Roos will look to bounce back as they take on Missouri State for the 31st time in program history.
- The Roos attempted 21 shots against the Gauchos, four more than they had in the first two games of the season combined. Despite this, only two of the shot attempts were on-frame, both coming from the foot of Raphael Kistmann.
- Brevyn Cole has entered his sophomore campaign as an essential piece of the puzzle for Kansas City. He has started all three games and has proven to be a threat in the attack as well, attempting three shots.
- 21 out of the 31 players on roster have seen the field for Kansas City in the first three matches. Corrado Sguotti made his Kansas City debut against UCSB, playing 31 minutes as a substitute.Â
- The Roos have proven effective in earning themselves corner kicks throughout the first three games of the year. KC is averaging 7.0 corners per game, the most in the Summit League and 23rd-most in the nation.
- After scoring two goals and dishing an assist in the first week of the season, Elie Kisoka ranks 25th in the nation with five total points on the year. He is one of just 111 players in Division One that has scored more than one goal on the young season.
Missouri State NotesÂ
- The Bears enter the Labor Day meeting with Kansas City holding a 1-1-0 record. The fell to UCSB in their season opener before a convincing win over Pacific last Monday.
- Jesus Barea is Missouri State's top goal scorer so far with three goals in two games. The 2022 MVC Player of the Year has scored or assisted on all of the Bears' goals.
- These two programs are no strangers to each other, playing each other 30 times in the past. Missouri State holds the significant all-time advantage, owning 24 wins, including the last seven straight.
- The teams met on Aug. 31 of last season, a 1-0 win in favor of the Bears.
