The Roos used three header goals to blow past the Bears
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Kansas City Men's Soccer (2-1-1) traveled across the state to take on Missouri State (1-2-0) this evening and took the Bears down, 3-2, in an action-packed match up. Missouri State jumped ahead early, but the Roos did not waiver. A pair of headers from Raphael Kistmann and Hector Taboada gave Kansas City the lead, and a Brandon McGaugh penalty kick save sent KC into the half ahead. Luke Hoelting found the back of the net early in the second half and the Roos were able to hold on for their second win of the season.
KEY MOMENTS | HIGHLIGHTS
- 1' / 0-0 | Missouri State took no time bringing action towards the Roos' goal, sending a swinging cross to the middle of the goal face. The Bears' Ollie Bate connected with his right foot, but McGaugh used his feet to block the ball away and make his first save of the night.
- 13' / 0-1 | Jesus Barea found the back of the net for Missouri State, finding a ball in the middle of the box and sending a quick shot past the goal line.
- 25' / 1-1 | The Roos did not need much time to draw even as a ball was sent up the right side of the field towards Ales Kohoutek. He sent his first touch towards the box, but it was blocked back. He then approached the ball again, sending an in-swinging cross to the edge of the six-yard box. Kistmann latched onto the ball and sent a header to the right side of the goal.
