Roos Face Southern Illinois to Kickoff Three-Game Home Stretch

Kansas City Notes

Kansas City looks to continue its hot streak after back-to-back clean sheets last week. The Roos took down Emporia State, 2-0, in their first shutout home opener since 2017 and then defeated Lindenwood, 3-0, in their second shutout of the week.
This will be the first home meeting between Kansas City and Southern Illinois. The Roos and the Salukis faced off last season, drawing 1-1 in Carbondale.
Riley Moore, Maddie Sibbing and Audrey Brown all led Kansas City in goal last week. Moore brought home her first shutout of the season against Emporia State while Sibbing and Brown combined for four saves and a clean sheet against Lindenwood.
The 2-0-2 start marks the best four-game opening stretch since 2019 when the Roos went 4-0 including two shutout wins.
Sophia Limongi played a standout role on Kansas City's back line last week. She earned her first goal of the season in the 41st minute against Lindenwood and played for 169 minutes across the two games.

Southern Illinois Notes

Both Kansas City and Southern Illinois enter the matchup undefeated. The Salukis picked up wins over Southeast Missouri State, 1-0, and IU Indy, 3-1, last week. Like the Roos, the Salukis opened their season with back-to-back draws against Jackson State, 2-2, and UT Martin, 0-0.
Fifth-year goalkeeper Fabiana Solano has started in all four games for the Salukis. She has made 14 saves on the season and logged two clean sheets.
McKensey Bunch and Sophia Schlicklin lead Southern Illinois in points with five each. The pair have earned two goals each and one assist.
