Roos Close Regular Season at Western Illinois, North Dakota

Kansas City Notes

The Roos head to Western Illinois after winning their second series of conference play at NDSU last weekend. Last season, Kansas City's lone series win was against Western Illinois. Tuesday's meeting will be the second game between the Leathernecks and the Roos this season with Kansas City winning the first matchup 2-0.
Camryn Stickel continues to be a force for Kansas City in the circle, throwing her second consecutive three-game week last week. She has earned 111 strikeouts so far this season including 10 last week. Stickel currently ranks 12th in the Nation with 174 innings pitched.
The meeting between North Dakota and Kansas City will be both team's final games before the conference tournament. The Roos currently hold fourth place in the conference, just one win in front of 5-10 North Dakota. Last season, North Dakota was the five seed and Kansas City was the sixth seed entering the conference tournament.
Lauren Parker has been on a hot streak at the plate, holding the longest active hitting streak for the Roos. She has earned one hit in every game beginning April 9, in the win over Missouri State. Her eight hits include a triple and a double, both against Omaha.
The Roos close their season on the road, with the opportunity to lock down a winning away record. Kansas City closed its home stretch with a 7-4 record, and head into the week with an 8-9 record on the road.

Western Illinois Notes

Western Illinois enters the matchup on an 11-game losing skid, with their most recent win on April 5, over SIUE. The Leathernecks shut out SIUE in their first game in Edwardsville 3-0 but fell in the following two matchups.
Rylee Boone is the only Leatherneck currently batting above .300 with a .316. She is tied for first on the team in multi-hit games with ten so far this year.
Emily Price leads Western Illinois in the circle, throwing 116 strikeouts so far this season with a 2.71 ERA. The Roos earned two hits against her in the last meeting.

North Dakota Notes

The last meeting between Kansas City and North Dakota was a 2-0 victory for the Fighting Hawks last season. The Roos picked up one win in the series to prevent a sweep.
The Fighting Hawks enter the matchup on a three-game losing streak after being swept by Omaha last weekend. UND scored one run compared to Omaha's 18 across the weekend.
Jackie Albrecht leads North Dakota in the circle with a 3.11 ERA and 122 strikeouts thrown across 141.2 innings.
