KANSAS CITY - Kansas City (11-18) and Iowa State (11-16, 2-4 Big 12) each got out to fast starts this afternoon at Urban Youth Academy, but it was the Roos who kept things going, claiming a 7-3 win. Both teams scored two runs in the first inning, and after going scoreless in the next two innings the Roos didn't look back, exploding for three runs and setting the tone to extend their winning streak to five games.
After allowing two runs in the first inning Katie Noble settled down, pitching all seven innings and earning her season high in strikeouts with five. Noble allowed five hits with three earned runs on 111 pitches.Â
