
Golf Surges to Fifth Place Finish at Lake Las Vegas

Maxence Mugnier led the Roos with a 2nd place finish, shooting eight-under
LAS VEGAS - Kansas City Men's Golf opened the spring season with an impressive push on the final day of the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, finishing tied for fifth out of 22 teams with a score of 10-under (854). Kansas City sat in 12th place with a score of 3-over after the first two rounds of the week, but shot a scorching 13-under-par 275 on the final day, tied for the best round by any team all week. Maxence Mugnier led the Roos, using a 5-under third round to finish alone in second place with an 8-under 208.

STATS TO NOTE
- The Roos' third round, 13-under 275 was tied for the best round by any team all week. South Florida also fired off a 275 in the final round.
- This was Mugnier's third top-five finish of his collegiate career, but his first as a Roo. The first two came during his time with Georgia State at the 2022 Craft Farms Intercollegiate (4th) and the 2021 Wofford Invitational (2nd).
- The Roos blew past the field on par-five holes, shooting 36-under was a team. The next closest squad was Arkansas State at 30-under.
- Mugnier led the field on par-three holes, shooting two-under on the week. He was one of just nine players to shoot under par on par-threes. Cooper also performed well on the par-threes, shooting even-par.
- Falleur, Mugnier and Robards all shot eight-under-par on par-five holes this week, tied for the sixth-best score among all competitors.
- Falleur fired off 17 birdies, tied for the second most among the field.
- Mugnier and Cooper both went for one eagle on the week. Both eagles came in the second round; Mugnier's came on the par-five ninth hole, while Cooper's came on the par-five 14th.
