Kasheem Grady II led Kansas City with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting

SAN JUAN, P.R. - Kansas City Men's Basketball (3-3) could not find its stride on offense against a solid American (2-4) team this afternoon, falling, 64-60. Kasheem Grady II provided a spark for the Roos offensively, going for 14 points. Jayson Petty and Anderson Kopp also reached double-digits, going for 13 and 10 points, respectively.

KEY MOMENTS

1H - 12:17 / 18-15 | After falling behind by 11 points in the early going, Anderson Kopp knocked down the Roos' fourth-straight triple and put KC ahead. The Roos would hold onto the lead for the rest of the first half.
2H - 14:16 / 36-33 | Jayson Petty buried a triple on an assist from Gob Gob, reclaiming the lead for the Roos with their first field goal of the second half.
2H - 6:17 / 43-48 | American used a 15-4 run and held KC 0-of-5 from the field across a span of seven minutes to claim an eight-point lead, but Ring Nyeri hit a three-pointer to end the drought.
2H - 0:59 / 56-56 | Petty knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Roos life but American went for an and-one on the next trip down and iced the game from the free throw line.

STATS TO NOTE

Despite shooting 17-of-49 from the field, the Roos were efficient from behind the three-point line, knocking down 10-of-24 attempts.
American earned the game from the free throw line, going 25-of-27 from the charity stripe.
Petty scored in double-digits for the sixth-straight game. He is the only Roo to reach the 10-point mark in each game so far this year.
