Kansas City out-shot the Cougars, 15-7, and came away with the result
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Men's Soccer dominated possession and appeared the better team for most of the game, but No. 18 SIUE sunk a late PK and the game resulted in a 1-1 draw. The first half was a defensive battle, with the Roos getting a few good looks but nothing coming of it. In the second half, the Roos broke through with a goal from Luke Hoelting early, but an unfortunate foul in the penalty box gave SIUE the equalizing goal with just four minutes remaining.
KEY MOMENTS

- 18' / 0-0 | Julien Le Bourdoulous got a good look just outside the box but sent it a tad right and kept things scoreless early.
- 36' / 0-0 | The Cougars got an excellent look inside the box and hit a shot on goal, but Stefano Carmelengo made a nice save to end the threat.
- 45' / 0-0 | Edson Murguia got a great look just before the half but missed just right as the half came to a finish with both teams scoreless.Â
- 59' / 1-0 | Cole passed it to Murguia, who kicked it back to a charging Cole in the box, and he was able to get a perfect tap to Hoelting, who would punch it in to give the Roos the lead.
