The Roos and Tommies will face off tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
Kansas City Notes
- Kansas City enters Friday afternoon's matchup with St. Thomas with a 0-0-1 record in Summit League play, thanks to a 89th minute penalty kick goal from Edson Murguia that knotted the game against Omaha, 1-1.
- Murguia's penalty kick was the first PK attempt and goal by a Roo this season. Last year, the Roos attempted five penalties (tied for most in the Summit) and made three (tied for second in the Summit).
- With his first goal of the season, Murguia became the second Kansas City player to score a goal this season that had also scored a goal as a Roo in seasons past. He joined Samuel Nagy, who scored in the 61st minute against UC Santa Barbara.
- Seth Kacich has been a rock in the back line for the Roos' defense. The fifth-year player has played every minute so far this season, logging the full 720 possible minutes. He is the only player on roster to do so.
- Mael Caisson has seen his role expand in the middle stages of the season. Since playing seven minutes in the Roos' win over Drake on Sep. 4, he has played the full 90 minutes in each of KC's last four matches.
- Stefano Camerlengo is coming off of his first-career Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week honor following a four-save performance against Omaha. On the season, Camerlengo leads the Summit in saves per game (4.57) and save percentage (71.1%).
St. Thomas NotesÂ
- The Tommies have begun the season with a 1-4-1 record, with their lone win coming against Chicago State, 2-1.
- UST opened Summit League play with a loss to No. 19 Denver, falling in a 2-0 decision. The Tommies attempted five shots on the game, four of which came in the second half.
- Last year, the Roos pulled out a 2-0 victory against St. Thomas on Nov. 5, a win which secured a spot in the Summit League tournament for Kansas City.
- St. Thomas has two goal scorers on the year. Oliver Bieleveldt and Faris Colic each have two goals on the season.
