Luke Hoelting found the net in the first half, but the Roos could not hold on to win
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Still seeking its first road win of the season, Kansas City Men's Soccer traveled to St. Thomas this afternoon and settled for a draw, 1-1. The Roos got a goal from Luke Hoelting midway through the first half and had opportunities to add more, but were unable to capitalize. A goal in the 66th minute from the Tommies tied things up, and sent both teams home with a point.
KEY MOMENTS
- 11' / 0-0 | The Roos first opportunity of the day came as Hector Taboada sent a through pass to Julien Le Bourdoulous on the right side of the goal, but the shot opportunity was just wide of the mark.
- 22' / 1-0 | Brice Middleton forced a turnover by the Tommies in the attacking third and immediately went to work. He eventually sent a pass to the foot of Hoelting, who latched onto the ball and sent it into the top netting for the goal.

- 23' / 1-0 | The Roos wanted another goal right after the first, building possession and finding Brevyn Cole up the right sideline. Cole pushed in to the middle of the field and let a left-footed shot fly, but it was collected by the UST keeper.
- 43' / 1-0 | St. Thomas applied pressure in the final minutes of the first half, resulting in a cross to the front of the goal mouth. A header was sent towards the net, but Stefano Camerlengo was in the correct position and made the save.
- 64' / 1-0 | After Samuel Nagy drew a foul just outside of the box, Le Bourdoulous sent a beautiful service to the middle of a crowd, finding Seth Kacich. Connecting with a header, Kacich's shot sailed just above the crossbar.
- 66' / 1-1 | A free kick bounced around the box before it was put into the net by the Tommies for an equalizing goal.
- 67' / 1-1 | The Tommies had another opportunity on a free kick shortly after their first goal, but the shot was easily handled by Camerlengo.
- 82' / 1-1 | Kansas City applied pressure on the UST kicker and forced a turnover, as Middleton sent the ensuing pass towards a soaring Murguia, but he could not quite make use of the open goal.
