Edson Murguia sunk his first goal of the season in the 89th minute as the Roos equalized for a draw
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Men's Soccer battled through weather delays and physical play in the team's Summit League opener, fighting to a 1-1 draw with Omaha this afternoon. After a slow start offensively, the Roos picked up in the second half, attempting 12 shots and culminating in an 89th minute equalizing penalty kick for Edson Murguia.

- 8' / 0-0 | Julien Le Bourdoulous fired off the Roos' first shot of the match, hitting low and center on Omaha goal to attempt to take the lead, but it was saved by the Omaha keeper.
- 31' / 0-1 | Omaha owned the advantage in possession for most of the first half, and it caught up in the 31st minute as the Mavs found the back of the net.
- 47' / 0-1 | The Mavericks looked to strike again early in second half action, but Stefano Camerlengo had no issue with the save.

- 89' / 1-1 | In the final minutes of play, the Roos looked for Brice Middleton in the box, who was spun around and flung to the ground, resulting in a penalty kick opportunity. Murguia stepped up and calmly deposited the ball into the left side of the goal while the Mavericks keeper lept to the right, equalizing the game.

- Murguia's goal was his first of the season and the third of his Kansas City career. His most recent goal came on Nov. 10 of last year as the Roos defeated Oral Roberts in the Summit League Semifinals.
- The Roos attempted 14 shots on the game, with 12 coming in the second half. Their 14 shots total marks the fifth-straight game that KC has attempted at least 11 shots.
- Camerlengo finished the day with four saves, bringing his season total to 32.
