Roos Earn Fourth Consecutive Result

Kansas City got ahead early, but Tulsa tied things up in the second half
TULSA, Okla. – Kansas City Women's Soccer drew their fourth consecutive match, tying the Golden Hurricane 3-3. The Roos came out on the offensive, earning three goals in the first 35 minutes of play and converting each of their three shots on frame. Tulsa also showed its offensive prowess firing off 19 shots, but Riley Moore held her own. Moore came up big with another career-high nine stops on the Golden Hurricane's 12 shots on goal.
Following their one goal in the first half, Tulsa was able to chip away from the Roos' 3-1 lead with an aggressive second half. The Golden Hurricane came out firing, landing three shots on goal in the first three minutes, all of which were denied by Moore. A successful penalty kick for Tulsa narrowed Kansas City's lead to one and with a breakaway goal to tie. The Roos and Golden Hurricane continued battling until the whistle.

Kansas City Women's Soccer will open conference play against 4-3-2 North Dakota State University. The Roos face the Bison in Fargo N.D., on Thursday and will kick off at 6:30 p.m.

KEY MOMENTS
- 21' / 0-0|Lily Stedman brought one down the left side, firing a shot just over the top of the frame.
- 22' / 1-0|Sydney Maddox got the ball just past center field and dumped it to Brianna Castleberry at the top of the six-yard box. Castleberry knocked the ball past the keeper to put the Roos on the board.
- 26' / 1-0| The Golden Hurricane were able to stage a drive towards the net. Moore stepped off the line to strip the ball from Tulsa.
- 34' / 2-0| From the right corner, Madison Page crossed one to Gigi Mir at the top of the six. Mir knocked it just left of the goalie to document her first career goal.
- 35' / 3-0| Madely Muhr got the ball just out front of center field, she flicked the ball up to Holland Hawkins at the top of the 18. Hawkins knocked it past the near side of the goalie for the Roos' third goal. The Golden Hurricane responded quickly, getting a play together and finding the back of the net.
- 66' / 3-2| Tulsa successfully converted a penalty kick and narrowed the Roos lead to one.
- 76' / 3-3| Moore came up with another big save for the Roos but was not able to hang on to the ball. Tulsa jumped at the loose ball in the box and found the back of the net.
- Moore put up another career-high tying nine saves. This was Moore's third nine-save appearance this season. She has documented 46 saves so far this season, compared to last year's 25.
- Three goals in one matchup is a season-high for the Roos. This was the first multiple-goal appearance in which all the goals had at least one assist.
- Both Holland Hawkins and Gigi Mir earned their first career goal. Hawkins had seen five shots on goal so far this season. Mir's goal was also her first career shot on goal.
- The Roos only spent 1:05 resetting between their second and third goal. Prior to this, the fastest time between goals was :34 on Oct. 29, 2016 against Chicago State.
- A drawing result against Tulsa was the Roo's fifth draw of the season and fourth consecutive draw. Four consecutive draws is a program record.
