Kansas City Softball travels to St. Paul for the Final Series of the Regular Season

The Roos will look to clinch a spot in the Summit League Tournament later this month
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos and the Leathernecks will battle it out this weekend for the sixth spot in the Summit League tournament. Western Illinois takes on North Dakota in Grand Forks. Both Kansas City and Western Illinois have three conference wins apiece, wins this weekend will determine a conference berth.
- Sophomore Amelia Fitzgerald leads Kansas City at-bat with a .322 conference avg. She earned 19 hits off of 59 at-bats including four doubles. Fitzgerald holds the longest hitting streak on the team with eight.
- Katie Noble has led the Roos in the circle for conference play with a 6.64 ERA and holding opposing batters to a .287 avg. On April 30, Noble threw four hitless innings against South Dakota State.
- This will only be the fourth meeting between the Tommies and the Roos. Last season, Kansas City went 2-and-1 in the series, but the Tommies took the final game in a 3-2 victory in Kansas City. St. Thomas will have the home-field advantage in the second series matchup.
South Dakota State Notes
- SDSU started off the season hot with a win over Nebraska and stayed hot going into conference play. The Jackrabbits are currently undefeated in conference play going 11-0.
- Jocely Carrillo leads SDSU at-bat in Summit League with a .429 avg along with 15 hits and six doubles.
- In the circle junior Tori Kniesche is a force for the Jackrabits. She has held Summit League opponents to just 17 hits off of 179 at-bats. She has thrown 88 strikeouts in the conference and totals 179 on the season. Kniesche maintains a perfect 0.00 ERA in the conference. Â
St. Thomas Notes
- Earlier in the season, St. Thomas swept the Western Illinois series. The Roos documented their first conference series win over Western Illinois going 2-and-1.
- Freshman Avery Wukawitz leads the Tommies at-bat with a .345 avg earning 19 hits in 55 at-bats. Wukawitz also leads St. Thomas in slugging percentage .618.
