The Roos put up a fight against FIU sending the game to extra innings following a loss to CU

MIAMI, Fla. – Kansas City (1-3) suffered a loss to No. 10 Clemson (3-0) but held the Tigers to their lowest scoring game in the tournament thus far 8-1. After the loss in the morning, the Roos came back strong, taking an early lead over FIU, but later losing 5-4 in extra innings. Seven strikeouts from Stickel in the circle, and a couple of RBIs were not enough for the Roos to end up on top.

Top 1 / 1 – 0 | A single to right field from Lexy Smith brought home Kiki McCrea who was walked to first. McCrea was put into scoring position on a bunt a from Sydney Nichols.
Bottom 4 / 1 – 6 | Clemson brought in two runners. The Roos let another one past to score off a wild pitch and a homer from CU added three more.
Bottom 4 / 1– 6 | Camryn Stickel went into the circle for Jenna Milan forcing outs from three consecutive batters to close the inning.
Bottom 5 / 1 – 6 | Stickle struck out CU's first two batters and after allowing a double, forced a pop-up to second to close another inning for the Roos.
Bottom 6 / 1 – 8 | A single from the Tigers brought in another two runs but gave Kansas City its second out of the inning. Another strike out from Stickle kept Clemson to two runs in the sixth.

Kansas City held No. 10 Clemson to its lowest scoring and smallest margin win in the tournament so far.
Stickel added three more strikeouts on the season with 2.10 ERA.
Adding another RBI this morning, Smith has three in the books for the tournament.

Bottom 2 / 0 - 0 | The first batter struck out swinging with Stickel in the circle. She walked one and forced outs from the following two batters.
Top 3 / 2 - 0 | Kansas City capitalized on loaded bases with a single from Vonfeldt to bring home Maveryck Lightfoot. McCrea scored on an error to give the Roos two runs.
Bottom 4 / 2 - 1 | A solo homerun put the Panthers on the board.
Top 5 / 2 - 1 | The Roos had a chance early, with a walk followed by a single toward third base but could not convert.
