Kansas City will seek its fourth-ever conference tournament title tomorrow at 2 p.m.
Kansas City Notes
- After eliminating Denver in penalty kicks, 3-3 (5-4) on Thursday, Kansas City Men's Soccer is into the Summit League Finals for the second-straight year, facing Omaha on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Tulsa.
- The Roos have shown a knack for knocking off the top-seed in the Summit League Championships the past two years. Last year, KC defeated #1 ORU in extra play, 3-2 before moving past the Pioneers this year. Since the 2008 season, the Roos have faced the #1 seed in the conference tournament six times, and have advanced in four of those matches.
- Kansas City will be looking for its fourth conference championship in program history, and the first since 2008. The Roos are 2-4-1 in the Summit League title game all-time and were victorious in their only championship game PK shootout, coming against Oakland in '08.
- Carson Lindsey had himself a game against the Pioneers on Thursday, notching two assists and tying the single-game Summit League Championship record. In his three year Kansas City career, Lindsey had previously logged just one assist, coming in a 2021 win over SIUE.
- Mael Caisson logged the first points of his Kansas City career in the semifinal round, assisting on Christian Koffi's 19th minute goal and scoring a goal of his own in the 57th minute.
- Julien Le Bourdoulous cemented his First Team All-League status with three points against the Pios. He leads KC in all offensive categories.
Omaha Notes
- Kansas City and Omaha have been an even matchup in the past three meetings, including a pair of draws this season. The teams have played for 180 minutes, the first game resulting in a 1-1 draw, the second a scoreless tie.
- These two teams have met 11 times in program history, with Omaha owning a 4-3-4 advantage. Since Ryan Pore took over at KC, the Roos have a 2-1-3 advantage over the Mavs.
- All three of KC's wins over Omaha have come at Durwood Soccer Stadium in Kansas City. The programs have never met in a neutral site game.
- Omaha defeated #2 Oral Roberts in the semifinal round, 1-0, on an 81st minute goal by Pilon St-Louis.
- The Mavs' Nathanael Sallah has the best save percentage in the league and the 35th-best in the nation at 0.774.
