Cross Country Prepares for Summit League Championships

The men will race at 11 a.m., followed by the women at 12 p.m.
BROOKINGS, S.D. - Kansas City Cross Country takes to South Dakota this weekend, ready to compete in the Summit League Championships for the third-straight year. The Roo men will look to improve upon their eighth-place finish from last season, while the women will aim to best their sixth-place finish. The race will take place at Edgebrook Golf Course.
The men's 8K race will begin at 11 a.m., with the Roos represented by Bret Beard, Jack Beard, Sam Cleary, Carson Hill, Athanasius Kibiwott, Evan Kiefer, Logan Klingele, Ian O'Neal and Joan Rocha-Navarro. Rocha-Navarro is the Roos' top returner, finishing 45th with a time of 25:22.5 in last year's Championship race.
The women's 6K race will begin at noon, with Jentrie Alderson, Harper Barlow, Maggie Boley, Kopelyn Delong, Melissa Jackson, Gracyn Pietrusinski, Payden Pietrusinski, Alanie Rivera, Jamaira Ross, Madelyn Russell and Ally Ryan running for Kansas City. Ryan is the top returner on the women's side, boasting a fifth-place finish at last year's race with a time of 20:21.5.
