Women's Basketball Set to Begin 2023 Against Golden Eagles

The Roos will take on the Golden Eagles tomorrow at 2 p.m.
- The Roos begin 2023 at home, taking on Oral Roberts. KC looks to snap a four-game losing streak, its second such streak of the season.
- In Kansas City's most recent contest against Omaha, the Roos took away 15 steals, its most against a Division One opponent since notching 17 in a win against Chicago State on Feb. 1, 2020. RaVon Nero went for a career-high six steals, the best since Paige Bradford went for the same mark against North Dakota State on Jan. 29, 2021.
- E'Lease Stafford has been the Roos' top scoring threat, averaging 16.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Summit and 75th in the nation. She has established herself as a three-point threat, averaging 2.33 triples per game on 34.3% three-point shooting, both top-three marks in the Summit.
- Kansas City seeks to reestablish its rebounding dominance. After winning the battle of the boards in nine of the first 11 games, the Roos have been out-rebounded in all of their first four Summit League contests.
- One of the best shot blocking teams in the nation, Kansas City can make life difficult for opponents around the rim. The Roos average 5.1 blocks per game, ranking first in the Summit and 20th in the nation. On the season, the Roos have notched eight games with five-plus blocks.
Oral Roberts Notes
- Saturday's meeting with the Golden Eagles will be the 53rd in program history, with ORU holding a 32-20 edge in the all-time series.
- Kansas City was the winner of the most recent contest, a 69-63 decision at the Swinney Center on Feb. 12 of last year. Five Roos scored in double digits in that game, led by Kiara Bradley with 19 points.
- In the last six meetings between the two teams, three have gone to overtime. All-time, the teams have played in seven overtime games, with ORU winning five.
- The Golden Eagles have the best scoring offense in the Summit League, averaging 75.3 points per game.
- Hanna Cooper leads the offense, averaging 4.6 assists and 20.2 points, ranking first and second in the league, respectively.
