Kansas City Notes
Kansas City Notes
- The last time the Roos were winless through five games came in the 2016 season, when KC started 0-3-2. The Roos bounced back to finish 8-10-4 that year, making a run to the WAC championship game.
- Accuracy has not been an issue for the Roos. The team has placed 69.2% of its total shots on frame, the top accuracy percentage in the Summit League and the second-best in Division One.
- The Roos will look for Madison Page to re-enter the lineup after missing last week's game against Texas State. Page is the Roos goal leader, ranking third in the Summit in goals per game and fourth in shots on goal per game.
- Riley Moore and Mackenzie Caldwell continue to make their cases as the Roos' starting goalie. Moore has started three games and has a 0.565 save percentage, while Caldwell has started the other two with a 0.833 save rate.
Kansas Notes
- The Roos and Jayhawks have played just twice before, with Kansas winning both previous matchups.
- This will be the first time that Coach Jess Smith takes on her alma mater as a head coach.Â
- Kansas City and Kansas both played Drake to a 3-1 result this season. KC fell to the Bulldogs, while the Jayhawks picked up a win.
- The Hawks are led by Shira Elinav with three goals and an assist on the year.
Missouri State Notes
- Kansas City and Missouri State have played 12 times in the past, with the Bears holding a 7-3-2 all-time advantage.
- Last season, the Roos defeated the Bears 2-1 behind a pair of late goals from Meghan White and Kassi Ginther.
- KC and Missouri State have played two common opponents so far: Tulsa and Saint Louis. The Bears dropped both matches, while the Roos picked up a draw against Tulsa.
