Women's Soccer Posts Shutout Draw Against Colorado State

Mackenzie Caldwell had the clean sheet, her first of the season
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer battled Colorado State to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon, the Roos' second result in-a-row. Mackenzie Caldwell was a stalwart in goal, making five saves on the day.
KEY MOMENTS
- 23' / 0-0 | After an uneventful start to the game, Madison Page drew the defense in and played a ball up the left side to Sophia Smith. Smith tried to find Kayda Kamolz at the top of the box, but Kamolz was unable to corral the pass.
- 31' / 0-0 | Colorado State earned the first corner of the day, but a crossing attempt was cleared from danger by Caijah Anderson.
- 39' / 0-0 | Holland Hawkins sent a sky ball towards the center of the field that bounced around before finding Lily Stedman. Stedman sent the Roos' first shot of the day on goal, saved by the Rams' keeper.
- 48' / 0-0 | A CSU foul set the Roos up with a free kick near midfield, which Sophia Limongi sent towards the box. The ball fell to Anderson, whose shot was off the mark.
- 61' / 0-0 | The first Kansas City corner kick resulted in a myriad of chances for the Roos, the most dangerous of which came as Morgan McLaughlin served a ball to Page, who headed the ball and forced the Rams' keeper to make a diving save.

- 79' / 0-0 | Colorado State sent a free kick into the box which was headed sharply towards goal, but Caldwell was perfectly positioned to block the ball away, and the second chance shot was sent out of bounds.
- 89' / 0-0 | The Roos' final opportunity of the day came as McLaughlin sent a beautiful pass to Katie Stephens, who sent a shot that curled just outside of the left post.
STATS TO NOTE
- Caldwell posted her first shutout since last season, the fifth of her career.
- Six different Roos attempted a shot on the day.
- Kansas City limited the Rams to 13 shots, the fourth-fewest by an opponent this season.
