The Roos host Chicago State and Colorado State this weekend
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Â Kansas City Women's Soccer is back home for the weekend, hosting old conference foe Chicago State on Friday before a first-ever meeting with Colorado State on Sunday.
Kansas City Notes
- The Roos have been held scoreless in four-straight games, since Madison Page's 30th minute goal against Creighton. KC also had a four-game goal drought last season spanning from Sep. 9-19.
- Scoring opportunities have been few, but the Roos have been accurate when they come. Of 337 teams in Division One, KC ranks 330th in shots per game (5.0) but are first in the nation in shot on goal percentage (0.714).
- Anna Jennings has been the Roos' shots leader, attempting eight on the year. She has attempted at least one shot in six-of-seven games.
- Sophia Limongi has been Ms. Reliable in the KC defensive line. She has gone the full 90 minutes in six-of-seven matches.
- Fifteen different Roos have earned at least one start on the year.
Chicago State Notes
- The Roos and Cougars are familiar foes, both competing as members of the Western Athletic Conference from 2014-19. KC now competes in the Summit League, while CSU is independent of conference alignment.
- Kansas City owns an 8-0-0 all-time record against the Cougars, averaging 8.0 goals per game. The Roos' program record of 13 goals scored came against Chicago State on Nov. 2, 2014.
- Four different Cougars have scored this season.
Colorado State State Notes
- Kansas City and Colorado State will be facing off for the first time in program history.Â
- The Rams have already played two Summit League teams this year, defeating South Dakota 3-1 on Aug. 25 before falling in a 2-1 decision to Denver on Sep. 11.
- Colorado State has two multi-goal scorers on the year. Liv Layton and Aleyse Evers have each found the back of the net twice.
