
Tennis Falls in Matches in Tulsa

The Roos fell to the Golden Hurricane and Golden Eagles in a pair of matches
TULSA, Okla. - Kansas City Women's Tennis dropped a pair of matches in Oklahoma this weekend, falling to Tulsa, 4-0 on Saturday and to Oral Roberts, 4-3 on Sunday. The losses drop the Roos to 3-11Â on the season.
In Saturday's match against the No. 48 Golden Hurricane, Tulsa jumped out by winning the doubles point quickly. Then, the Hurricane earned straight-set wins in No 1, 4 and 5 singles to earn the sweep.
In Sunday's Summit League matchup with the Golden Eagles, wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles gave ORU the first point. Wins at No. 1 and 3 singles made the Roos' deficit 3-0 early, but the match was far from over. Anastassiya Timofeyeva earned a win at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-2, and Tuana Tinaztepe won at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-3 to bring the Roos back within a point. Both the No. 2 and 5 courts went to three sets, but Oral Roberts was able to clinch with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Riddhi Sharma at No. 5. Michela Xibilia picked up the Roos' final point with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
The Roos are back in action in KC this week, hosting Saint Louis on Tuesday at 2 p.m., followed by weekend matchups with Denver and Wichita State.
