Tennis Picks up Win over Creighton

Strong play by the bottom of the Roos' lineup paved the path to victory
OMAHA, Neb. - Kansas City Tennis returned to winning ways against Creighton this afternoon, pulling out a 4-2 victory. The Roos have now defeated the Bluejays in each of their last four matches.
Kansas City began by winning the doubles point for the second day in-a-row. Riddhi Sharma and Michela Xibilia flexed their strength on the No. 3 court, pulling out a 6-2 victory. Despite a loss on the No. 2 court, Grace Ball and Eva Kresovic gutted out a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles, earning the point.
Creighton quickly responded by taking two points back on the No. 1 and 3 singles courts, but the Roos did not falter. Tuana Tinaztepe made quick work of her opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles for her sixth singles win of the year. Michela Xiblila won at the No. 2 spot for her third win in five matches, putting Kansas City up 3-2. Anastassiya Timofeyeva had to grind for the clinching point at No. 5, falling in the first set, but bouncing back to claim the next two, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Roos will round out regular season play at the Plaza Tennis Center this weekend, hosting Western Illinois for Senior Day on Saturday at 10 a.m.
